In Interview with Ella Scopilo 1-14-2006

Alyssa: Good evening! We are speaking with daring Chippewa author Ella Scopilo. Hi Ella! Love the name…in fact, I almost named my daughter Ella. Or Bella. Or Belle. But the dh wouldn’t hear it! So ... clue us in…who is Ella Scopilo? A bio, a backlist, your writing credits, or anything at all. Who are we speaking to?
Ella: Ella Scopilo writes about anything that others might shy away from. I love to write about gay elves, vampire ménages, and aliens with unusual appendages. From Of Elves and Vampires to He Came From Venus, I love the shock treatment!

Alyssa: Sounds like writing never gets boring for you! Can you tell us something about you current release and what inspired you to write it?
Ella: I’m finishing up the second in the Of Elves and Vampires series. I haven’t had time to write a full-length novel lately because of business and kids so I’ve been sticking to short stories as well. Shorts are fun because I can whip one up in a night and tweak it for the next few nights. I love to read short stories, too.
Alyssa: I fell the same way. I especially love novellas. Let’s see what else we have in common. What does your desk look like?
Ella: A big, giant mess!

Alyssa: LOL. Mine was J but then I got a second desk. It helps! What’s your favorite food?
Ella: It’s a toss up between pasta with red sauce, San Francisco style chow mein, or chocolate. I really miss the chow mein from California!

Alyssa: Never had the first two but I’ll take chocolate any day! What’s your favorite television show?
Ella: I’m really stuck on CSI, except now I enjoy Killer Instinct. The guy on it is just simply adorable and since I’m a born and raised Northern California girl, I love the scenery. I lived in San Francisco for awhile and watching it make me homesick.

Alyssa: I love all those cop/detective shows. Drives the hubby nuts! Now, if you could go one place, anywhere at all ... tap your heels together and you’re there ... where would it be?
Ella: There’s no place like home! I’d be back home in the San Francisco Bay Area with my ocean, seafood, sunshine, and good food.

Alyssa: San Francisco is an awesome area. I researched it for a book once, and have always wanted to visit. So, what type of music do you love?
Ella: Modern rock, alternative. Robert Smith is my all time favorite!

Alyssa: And what’s your favorite chocolate?
Ella: Do I have to pick just one? I guess a mocha with real espresso and some thick, dark European chocolate. Mmmmm ... I have to go get one now. Bye!

Alyssa: I certainly don’t pick just one ... which is why I have a big butt! Ok, last but not least, how can readers find out more about you? Links…etc…please!
Ella: www.scopilo.com --- Lots of sexy fun and games for all. I even have a dirty word hangman game ;-)
