In Interview with Lucynda Storey 7-8-2005Alyssa: Clue us in ... who are you? A bio, a backlist, your writing credits, or anything at all. Who are we speaking to?Lucynda: I’m a former junior high school teacher. Currently, I have four novels published through Loose Id and Triskelion Publishing. I’ve been writing since I was old enough to hold a pencil and spell. I have two more books slated for release late this summer and earlyfall. Alyssa: Wow! Way to go! You’re working on quite a little list now. What hurdles did you have to overcome before you became a published author? How long did it take you? Lucynda: It took me getting serious. So on one hand a lifetime. On another about five years. Alyssa: Do you have any specialties you love to write about? Lucynda: Contemporary and Fantasy genres. Alyssa: What’s your favorite part of the writing, for example, do you love to hatch out fight scenes, love scenes, threesomes ... In other words, what really makes you fingers flow? Lucynda: I love writing sex scenes, to this point I haven’t gotten “bored” of it. I think perhaps it is because I don’t find sex “boring” at all! Fight scenes, action of all sorts seem to come easily. Alyssa: Can you tell us something about you current release and what inspired you to write it? Lucynda: My most current release, The Captive’s Release, was inspired by a personal sexual fantasy. The entire novel is NOT the fantasy. I had to develop the story to go around the fantasy. Alyssa: Do you have any writing pleasures or peeves about the work itself, the business, etc…anything you’d care to gush or rant about? Lucynda: LOL, I hate waiting. It’s one of the most frustrating things about the writing business. The best thing: knowing an editor loves your work enough to recommend it be contracted and that someone outside your circle of family or friends likes it too! Alyssa: Oh God. I HATE waiting too. It drives me nuts. I can get very obsessive. Let’s see, what else to we have in common? What does your desk look like? Lucynda: On a good day? I have enough room to sit at it and actually use it. On a bad day? Wind swept, unstable piles of paper. Alyssa: LOL. My computer doesn’t even make it on my desk anymore. So, why erotic romance? What do you LOVE about the genre? Lucynda: Sex with the one you love is beautiful. I see no reason to not write about it. Women have sexual dreams and needs like men, and erotic romance allows authors to explore that need with more. We get to entwine ours with, gasp, an emotionally satisfying story! Alyssa: So ... we’ve heard about the writing. Let’s hear about you ... What’s your favorite food? Lucynda: It used to be flaming hot chicken wings. Alyssa: What’s your favorite television show? Lucynda: Dark Shadows or The X Files Alyssa: What do you think of T.V. reality shows? Lucynda: They aren’t real. Alyssa: Pepsi or Coke? Lucynda: Diet Coke all the way. Alyssa: You’re a smart girl. LOL. Diet Coke rules. If you could go one place, anywhere at all ... tap your heels together and you’re there ... where would it be? Lucynda: Landover. (Magic Kingdom for Sale, SOLD!) ... oh, you mean a real place? Ireland or Scotland or England in the country in my own feudal castle. Alyssa: What do you sleep in? Lucynda: A tap set, a black teddie, or au natural. Alyssa: How can readers find out more about you? Links ... etc. ... please!
