James Ligatos is a man with an unusual hobby. He turns promising young criminals into world leaders. His latest project is Nicholas Boyd, formerly Nikolai of the Revenant street gang. But the little killer-turned-file-clerk is much more than Ligatos and his staff bargained for. As Kentucky attempts to secede from the Confederated States of America and rejoin the United States, Nick's skills and the group's training are put to the ultimate test, and the price of failure is death.

Hi and welcome back to another Slip Between the Sheets! We have quite a interesting character with us today—Nick Boyd from Angelia Sparrow’s spicy new release, Nikolai.

So Nick, let’s start with my favorite question. Boxers or briefs?

Nick: Briefs. I wear basic white cotton. Except when I don't wear anything at all... (gives the interviewer a saucy wink)

Alyssa: Ohhhh…a flirt! So Nick, tell me. Have you found that someone special yet? What attracts you to a woman?

Nick: Yes, but he's not a woman. It took a while for me to understand, but I fell in love with James Ligatos sometime between him looking me over in the interrogation room and when he offered me three years of intensive training instead of prison. Took me almost a year to tell him, though. He said it first.

Women, that's a whole different subject. Mistress Tanis will tell you otherwise, but I do like women. Men are easy. I find power sexy. Women, there's a whole host of things that attract me, including looks. Yeah, I'm shallow. But a smart woman, rarity that she is in the Confederated States, really intrigues me.

Alyssa: Nothing wrong with liking your woman smart and strong! <saucy wink> Too bad for you I’m taken, LOL! Nick, something tells me you’re not the type of man to want his partner slaving in the kitchen for him (but maybe vice versus!). So, can you cook? Better yet, bake?

Nick: Mistress Tanis has been teaching me. It's not the easiest thing in the world, since Sir--that's Mr. Ligatos, to you (here he taps the leather strap riveted around his neck)-- keeps a kosher kitchen. But I'm not bad at it. I don't get to do much baking.

Alyssa: Um, the only thing I heard was “leather strap riveted around my neck.” Now that brings to mind some interesting images…how about you fill in the blanks?

Nick: That's a permanent collar you're staring at. It only comes off when it's cut off. And that won't be for another six years. I'm indentured. See, I fouled up my original deal with Sir. Really badly, I might add.

When he got me out of prison (I said bad, didn't I?), I had to sign the indenture to stay on. I found out later everyone he trains tends to end up that way. It's why he operates out of the Confederated States. The Bible makes slavery and indentured servitude legal.

Alyssa: Oh my, but somehow, not as kinky as I expected. But we can remedy that! Give me a visual of your favorite sex position.

Nick: Spread-eagle against the wall, Sir behind me, lube and arm around my throat both optional. (dark chuckle)

Alyssa: My curiosity is satisfied…and my imagination going wild! Let’s talk more about your body. It’s great. Very hard. J So, do you work out? Watch your diet?

Nick: (Here he gives the interviewer a wicked smirk) Two hours a day in the gym at 5:30 AM. I work out when my master does. The exercise is mandatory in Sir's organization. Then I usually get an afternoon workout with Steven, Mistress Tanis' husband, doing unarmed combat. See, I'm just a little guy and Steven's about a foot taller than me, so I'm learning it all the hard way.

Alyssa: Wow, you sound like quite the machine! Little guy or not, I wouldn’t want to cross your path! So Nick, the devil aside, who's your worst enemy?

Nick: David Inman. This takes some explaining, especially since I'm taking classes from him every day and sleeping with him about three times a week. David is a slave of the household. Collar aside, I'm just indentured for seven years. David refused to go out free at the end of his time because he loved Sir too much. Now, he oversees most of the operation. Sir is training me to take over the operation, for some reason, and David resents that. He's undermined me a couple of times already, but of course I can't prove it. He's smarter than I am. Probably smarter than Sir and me put together. He may get me killed yet. Or maybe not.

Alyssa: Yikes, sleeping with the enemy! So, where do you see yourself ten years from now? Given David doesn’t thwart your plans…

Nick: I'd like to say right where I am, but I know that's not the case. Ten years.... I'll be thirty two. My indenture will be over by then. I want to travel and study with some of the other world leaders. But by then? I want to be back here, in Memphis, working at Sir's right hand as a free man, sharing his bed and loving him.

Alyssa: As you should be! I’ll send David telepathic vibes to go away…
