While growing up, Marielle Jameson’s best friend was her neighbor Ben Carson. But Mari ran with the popular crowd and Ben was a nerd. Then life intervened and they lost touch. Now Ben is back, and he is most definitely not a nerd. Their reunion is hot, heavy and full of promise. Can Ben pull Mari out of the slump she’s fallen into? And can Mari trust Ben not to break her heart? The answer to both is yes, although figuring out their future will take some work. But, as Ben says, “Anticipation is half the fun.”

Alyssa: Welcome to another special edition of Slip Between the Sheets!

It seems there’s a new trend starting—heroines too hesitant to let me interview their men alone. What? Was it that Hamish incident? He-he. Sorry, Tilly, he’s just so hot!

So with us today we have Ben and Marielle from Vicky Burkholder’s EC quickie, Anticipation. Yay—I’ve nerd stories!

So Ben, I hear you have a special talent. Word has it you can cook and even better, bake?

Ben: But of course, darlin’. You should try my Double Chocolate Sex muffins. I’ve had women melt over just the title.

Alyssa: <indeed, melting> Can I keep you? I mean, um, sorry, Mari. But just in the kitchen, I promise. Please?

Darn.

Well then, that’s probably best, because at the mention of sex muffins, I’m suddenly feeling wicked. <talking like a zombie> Must ask wicked questions. Must be naughty…

So Ben, the scoop all the ladies want in on. Is it boxers or briefs?

Jon: Briefs when I’m not commando.

Alyssa: Well, I hope being commando’s a frequent thing. HEHE! Speaking of which, what do you sleep in?

Ben: Oh, darlin’, do you have to ask? Bare as the day I was born.

Alyssa: Didn’t have to ask. Wanted to. <wink>

Oops, sorry again, Mari. I’m a terrible flirt, I know. But it’s not my fault Jon’s so sexy! You’re excusing yourself? Oh, well, the bathroom’s just down the hall, but do hurry up!

Mari seems nice—quiet,  but nice. And I’ve a feeling that’ll change, once I get her talking.

So tell me, Jon, have you found that someone special yet? <wink, wink again>What attracts you to this woman?

Jon: Yep. Her wit, her intelligence, her honesty. I like dark hair and eyes that draw you in and don’t let you go. I like someone who knows what she wants and goes after it, but always with a sense of propriety and morals.

Alyssa: Propriety? Strike one for me! What else turns you off?

Jon: Dishonesty and letting herself go. I mean, I’m not into a sports freak, but don’t be a couch potato either.

Alyssa: Understandable. I wouldn’t want a man who spent his days sitting on his ass, either.

Before Mari comes back, tell me, do you want kids? For that matter, do you ever want to get married? Ever been?

Jon: I’d like a family some day, but it has to be with the right woman.

Alyssa: Hmmm…one more quick one, because I hear Mari coming down the hall, and when she gets back, I better make nice. So what's your favorite sex position?

Jon: There’s a favorite? Any position that gets me and her together is my favorite.

Alyssa: You’re such a good sport! So Marielle, welcome back! <slides glance to Jon> You’re welcome to take a bathroom break now. Assuming you need one.

See you in a few, Jon!

So, Mari, he’s a hottie. But tell me more about what attracts you to a man.

Mari: Honesty and caring about something other than just himself. And having him good to look at doesn’t hurt.

Alyssa: I hear that. So what's your biggest turn on? Turn off?

Mari: Hmmm – turn on is walking into a kitchen with him standing there in just PJ bottoms and cooking me breakfast. Turn off – someone who doesn’t take care of himself – grooming, physically – and who lies to me.

Alyssa: Mmmm, breakfast….You draw a nice visual. Why don’t you describe your perfect first date to me?

Mari: Dinner – it doesn’t have to be fancy. In fact, I’d rather not do fancy. But someplace nice. And quiet. Not a fast food place with kids screaming all over the place. And maybe a walk afterwards. Through a park or something where we could talk. A movie would be nice, but not knowing what each would like is hard so I’d say dinner and a nice walk.

Alyssa: Sounds nice. So if that’s your most romantic date, what's the most romantic thing a man could do for you?

 Mari: Cook for me.

Alyssa: You’re with the right man then!

Chocolate or cheese or chocolate cheesecake? What's your weakness?

Mari: Bittersweet chocolate with mint – like a peppermint patty. Almost anything with chocolate and mint.

 Alyssa: Yummy!

So if that’s your weakness when it comes to food, what's your weakness in bed? And I don’t want to hear Jon. Come on, dish! What’s your favorite sex toy?

Mari: A blindfold. Or maybe a deep bathtub with a pulsating showerhead.

Alyssa: Oh, I love those! But I think hear Jon coming back, so quick, tell me, any hopes for marriage? Children?

Mari: Someday, but only with the right guy.

Alyssa: And Jon—oh, speak of the devil! Welcome back!

So you love to cook and Mari loves a man who can cook. Tell me, forgetting calories and cooking ability, what's your all time favorite meal?

Ben: anything homemade. I’m not particular.

Mari: Braised scallops with fettucini with mushrooms sautéed in olive oil and roasted garlic and asparagus. I adore scallops and pasta and… well, just about anything with pasta and seafood works for me.

Alyssa: <drooling!> So I’m curious. Are you two day or night people?

Ben: I prefer the night, but if I’m waking up to Mari, the mornings are good too.

Mari: Mornings. Or just about any time with Ben.

Alyssa: Uh-oh, opposites attract?

Tell me, do you two have a favorite television show or anything?

Ben: “Supernatural”

Mari: I don’t know. I really don’t watch that much. I guess I’d have to say something paranormal or mysterious – maybe “Ghost Whisperer”. Though I used to absolutely adore “Firefly” when that was on!

Alyssa: Okay, I’m kept you two talking long enough. One last question. Reveal your darkest secret! (I won't tell...except everyone who reads this blog!)

Ben: I love licking chocolate off Mari’s… well, use your imagination.

Mari: I love having him do it.

Alyssa: Well, then, do I have a gift for you! <goes to fridge and pulls out chocolate syrup tied with a big red ribbon> Thanks so much for joining me today…and enjoy!
